Many things can cause bleeding after sex. Most of the time, there's nothing wrong, and it goes away on its own. But sometimes, it can signal a larger health issue that needs to be checked by a doctor. Here are some potential causes:

-Menstruation

-vaginal dryness

-Cervical inflammation or infection

-Cervical ectropion(when cells normally on the inside expand to the outside cervix)

-Cervical polyps(growths on the cervix)

-Uterine prolapse (when your uterus moves from its normal position)

-Cervical lesions 

-Cervical cancer

-Trauma from rough sex

Anytime you notice abnormal bleeding, it's a good idea to visit a health care provider. They will probably ask you about irregular bleeding, pain, sexual history, vaginal discharge, and the date of your last Pap test.  

I found out this weekend that tearing during sex can happen and is not out of the norm. Ladies, please use lube. It's not shameful. I normally don't have vaginal dryness but at least have some just to be safe. Vaginal tears aren't horrific if they aren't severe, but they aren't very fun.

Hi,please help me out!I had sex five days ago and I've been bleeding every day since then.It's not too much blood,but every time i wipe,there's some pink blood.Any ides what's going on??

Also my period is said to start in about five days!

@aimeebamford136 Hi,So i missed my period entirely for February,But luckily i finished my period for March!I don't know what could've triggered the missed period or whatever,But i'm just glad to know i'm fine!

I need help ? so my bf and i had a sexy time yesterday and everything was going on great until i noticed that i felt more wet than usual,then after we finished i noticed there was alot of blood everywhere ! Idk if it was the position that we used or something else but it's the next day and am still bleeding like i'm on a period but it does'nt start until a couple of weeks!

Has this happened to anyone else??

@amandabevan1583 Hey am certain it was your period. Sometimes it could come early like way earlier than expected. It has happened to me before i realised i got my period twice that month.

@amandabevan1583 This is exactly what I'm going through rn. I thought I was spotting but it's day 3 now . The only reason I'm confused if I'ts spotting or my period is because I haven't had my period since April(2021)due to the first & only depo shot I got a month before that.

I don't think you are pregnant considering you had sex 2 days back and it was 8 days before your period so It's likely that you were'nt ovulating

I have been bleeding ocassionaly after sex so it just made me stressed out

Maybe It's coming back ?. I don't know if that happens. But i just started spotting today since that incident 3 days back. My mom suspects am pregnant because I am African and there's certain beliefs about certain dreams in relation to pregnancy. She's been having dreams but I'm not sure I believe in those.

Rough sex can cause bleeding I also experience this last month but now am okey? infection, stress can all cause bleeding but if is too much you have to visit a doctor

I can't remember ever bleeding after sex unless it was the last day of my period. In general, for all the oddities related to women's health, you should immediately go to the doctor!
